A Knoxville native, Laura has deep roots in the East Tennessee community and a strong understanding of the local real estate market. Real estate has been part of her life from the beginning—growing up in a family of Realtors and learning firsthand the value of integrity, market expertise, and client advocacy. Laura earned her real estate license while completing her MBA at the University of Tennessee, selling her very first home just hours before her graduation ceremony—a moment that confirmed real estate was exactly where she belonged.
Today, Laura serves as Broker, Owner, and Listing Specialist at Slyman Real Estate, a company founded by her father in 1971 and known throughout East Tennessee for excellence in comprehensive real estate services. With decades of experience and a results-driven marketing strategy, Laura and her team help clients sell and purchase homes with confidence and clarity.
Laura’s approach combines strategic pricing, innovative marketing, and attentive client service. Her proven system includes professional photography, video marketing, 3D virtual tours, staging guidance, targeted digital advertising, and strong negotiation—ensuring every property receives maximum exposure and every client receives personalized attention.
Her dedication to both her clients and the profession has earned her numerous honors, including serving as President of the East Tennessee Realtors Association and being named Realtor of the Year in 2002. Knoxville Area Association of Realtors® in 2018 and being named KAAR Realtor of the Year in 2020. Laura has also been consistently recognized as Cityview Magazine’s “Best of the Best” Realtor for many years and remains actively involved in the community.
